Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced estimator to support a range of construction projects. You will perform basic to moderately complex estimating, prepare OPCCs, research costs, and coordinate with project managers and vendors.

You will develop detailed baseline schedules with WBS, assist in change management, manage subcontracts, and provide QA/QC support on site while collaborating with design teams and field staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline. 3 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic to moderately complex estimating tasks including quantity take-offs, material price lists, and cost research.
• Utilizes Timberline to prepare or assist in preparation of Opinions of Probable Cost (OPCC) for design build projects.
• Researches historical data and compiles reports to develop guidelines for future estimates.
• Contacts subcontractors and suppliers for current pricing and bidder interest.
• Develops or assists in development of purchase orders, subcontracts, and change orders.
• Develops detailed baseline schedules for engineering and construction portions of projects including Work Breakdown Structures and activity durations.
• Assists in change management and time impact analyses; supports project controls team to update schedules.
• Provides QA/QC guidance and field support; ensures compliance with plans, specifications, and codes.
