Job summary

CDM Smith in Omaha, NE is seeking an estimator to support cost planning and bid activities on infrastructure and construction projects. You will perform quantity take‑offs, research costs, and help prepare Opinions of Probable Cost of Construction (OPCC) for design-build efforts while coordinating with project teams and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic to moderately complex estimating tasks including quantity take‑offs and researching labor, material and equipment costs.
• Utilizes Timberline to prepare Opinions of Probable Cost of Construction (OPCC) and design-build projects.
• Receives, reviews and files pricings from project managers against OPCCs.
• Contacts subcontractors and suppliers for current pricing and bidder interest.
• Participates in pre‑bid job walks and Bid‑Day quote tabulations.
• Develops detailed baseline schedules and Work Breakdown Structures (WBSs).
• Develops or assists in the development of purchase orders, subcontracts, change orders, and applications for payment.
• Performs surveying functions and verifications of final locations and elevations.
• Prepares required documentation records such as PXPs, bid documents, status reports and manuals.
• Assists in managing the modeling efforts and deliverables to solve construction issues including BIM/VDC coordination.
