Job summary

CDM Smith in Utah is seeking an experienced estimator and project controls professional to support complex construction projects. The role involves preparing cost estimates, OPCCs, and bid analyses, using Timberline, and developing detailed project schedules with WBS and dependencies.

You will collaborate with design engineers, field teams, and procurement to ensure accurate cost data, timely bids, and robust change management. Travel may be required for diverse project sites in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline. 3 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic to moderately complex estimating tasks including quantity take-offs, and researching costs.
• Uses Timberline to prepare OPCCs and design-build project estimates.
• Develops or assists in development of purchase orders, subcontracts, change orders, and applications for payment.
• Develops detailed baseline schedules including Work Breakdown Structures and activity durations.
• Reviews contract specifications, quality plans, and drawings; conducts field inspections to verify work.
• Performs scheduling updates with project controls team to manage critical path and change impact analyses.
• Provides technical guidance and training to junior staff and assists with project meetings.
