Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced estimator to support project bids by preparing quantity take-offs, pricing, and budgeting. The role involves coordinating with vendors and applying WBS to develop pricing for basic project elements.

Travel of up to 10% may be required. Strong reading of drawings, attention to detail, and effective communication are essential to contribute to the estimating team and deliver accurate estimates.

Qualifications

• Proficient in estimating techniques, cost control and pricing calculations.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Experience coordinating with vendors and subcontractors for pricing.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate quantity take-offs from plans and specs.
• Enter take-offs and unit pricing for project estimates.
• Apply work breakdown structure (WBS) to estimates.
• Coordinate pricing with vendors and suppliers for basic elements.
• Contact subcontractors for outsource pricing and quotations.
• Contribute to key estimating deliverables and documentation.
• Support conceptual estimating and basic modelling for review by senior staff.
• Develop budgets and purchasing plans with minimal oversight.
• Coordinate document flow during estimate preparation.
• Provide administrative logging of estimates and data.
