Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer (Construction) to lead EHS site management for Cape Canaveral’s spaceport infrastructure. You will oversee crane, rigging, heavy equipment, welding, and fabrication safety, ensuring compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH and related standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in EHS within construction, with strong organizational and training capabilities. ITAR familiarity and bilingual English/Spanish are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
• 5+ years of design, development, and operational oversight of EHS in construction.
• Experience interpreting and applying federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day EHS site management for a fast-paced construction project.
• Develop and audit safety programs for crane, rigging, heavy equipment, welding, and fabrication activities.
• Collaborate with leadership to establish PPE requirements and safety policies.
• Provide technical oversight for high-risk mechanical construction tasks.
• Investigate incidents and prepare root cause reports with corrective actions.
• Educate site personnel on cranes, rigging, heavy equipment, welding safety, and fabrication.
