Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Lead Environmental Health & Safety Engineer, Construction Safety, to lead the EHS construction safety team across projects. You will oversee daily activities, guide hiring decisions, and manage the program budget while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and SpaceX safety standards.

You will coach staff, conduct site inspections, review safety policies, and drive contractor safety engagement.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
4+ years leading environmental, health and safety programs with construction focus.
3+ years of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage day-to-day activities of the EHS construction safety team.
Review and approve Purchase Orders and manage budgets for construction safety programs.
Develop solutions to improve construction site safety and drive contractor engagement.
Provide training and guidance on JHAs, safe work procedures, permits to work, and risk tools.
Hold contractor safety reviews to drive accountability for EHS performance.
Lead implementation of safety policies and regular site inspections to ensure OSHA 1926 compliance.
Perform safety audits, pre-task planning, and contractor risk assessments with project teams.
Review and interpret safety laws and provide guidance to management.
