Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer to lead EHS activities for a major construction project. You will implement, enforce, and audit safety programs, perform hazard assessments, and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and NFPA standards on site.

The role requires hands‑on safety leadership, incident investigation, and training of construction personnel across multiple teams, with a focus on high‑risk activities and regulatory adherence.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of EHS design, development and oversight in construction
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• CHST certification
• CSP preferred
• Experience with high‑risk construction activities such as steel fabrication, electrical, excavation, fall protection, machine guarding
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
• Strong regulatory knowledge (EPA, OSHA, NFPA, NFOS)
• Proficiency in MS Office applications

Responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day EHS site management for a fast‑paced construction project
• Implement and audit EHS program for contractor operations
• Develop hazard assessments and PPE requirements
• Monitor employee exposure to hazards
• Investigate incidents and write root cause reports
• Provide safety training to construction personnel
• Ensure compliance with EPA, RCRA, DOT and other regulations
• Allocate resources for safety‑related items
