Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer (Construction) to support the Cape Canaveral infrastructure buildout. You will apply technical EHS expertise across crane and rigging operations, heavy equipment, welding, and fabrication, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance on site.

You will develop and audit EHS programs, train site personnel, and lead incident investigations while coordinating with leadership to enforce PPE, hazards controls, and health and safety policies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in environmental, health and safety in construction.
• Experience with crane, rigging, welding and heavy equipment safety.

Responsibilities

• Implement and audit the site's EHS management program for contractors and spaces involved in SpaceX construction.
• Develop and maintain documented safety observations from inspections of facilities, machinery and equipment to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with leadership to establish PPE requirements, safeguards, and health policies for construction sites.
• Provide technical oversight for high-risk mechanical tasks including crane, rigging, heavy equipment use, welding and fabrication.
• Monitor and evaluate employee exposure to hazards during normal operations and emergencies.
• Develop recommendations for remedial actions when safety policies are not met by employees.
• Educate and provide safety training on cranes, rigging, heavy equipment, welding safety and fabrication.
• Investigate incidents and write reports to determine root causes and preventive actions.
• Maintain compliance with EPA, RCRA, DOT and other regulatory agencies.
• Ensure resources are allocated to safety-related items.
