Job summary

Sharma General Engineering is seeking a detail-oriented Project Billing Clerk to join our construction team in Moorpark, CA. You will act as the bridge between vendors and GCs, handling monthly progress billings and the lien waiver exchange to ensure healthy project cash flow.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of construction billing or accounts receivable experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and familiarity with Textura, Procore, GC Pay, and Coupa.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in construction billing, project administration, or accounts receivable.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to meet tight monthly billing deadlines.
• Solid understanding of retainage rules, change orders, and lien waivers.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication; professional when resolving disputes.
• Proficiency with construction accounting software and MS Excel/Word.

Responsibilities

• Progress Billing: Prepare, review, and submit monthly progress billings using the Schedule of Values (SOV).
• Lien Waiver Management: Collect, track, and issue lien waivers for progress and final payments.
• Dispute Resolution: Resolve billing discrepancies with GC PMs and obtain missing documentation.
• Vendor & Subcontractor Compliance: Monitor insurance certificates and releases before payments.
• Collections & Follow-Up: Follow up on past-due invoices to maintain a clear paper trail.
