HireIQ is seeking an early-career Accounting & Billing Specialist in New Jersey to join a growing construction/restoration business. The role offers exposure to AP, AR, billing and collections within a project-based industry and provides hands-on experience with QuickBooks and project accounting.

Ideal candidates have about 1 year in accounting and desire to grow into broader construction accounting responsibilities, including lien waivers, AIA billing, and insurance documentation.

Qualifications

• Around 1+ year of AP, AR, billing or general accounting experience.
• Construction, restoration, contracting, home services or another project-based industry strongly preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Someone looking to develop into a broader construction accounting role.

Responsibilities

• Accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Preparing and processing customer invoices
• Following up on outstanding balances and assisting with collections
• Entering and maintaining accounting information in QuickBooks
• Supporting project/job-related accounting
• Reviewing invoices, payments and supporting documentation
• Working with project teams and customers to resolve billing issues
• Learning construction-specific processes including lien waivers, AIA billing and insurance-related documentation
