Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Business Development Manager to own the market relationships with general contractors, owners, developers and design firms. You will manage the pipeline, pursue opportunities, and coordinate with the engineering team.

Base salary plus commission on collected revenue reflects your success. You will travel locally, report pipeline monthly, attend pre-bid meetings, and present proposals to close signed testing and inspection work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years selling professional or technical services to the construction industry (testing, inspection, engineering, equipment, or subcontracting).
• Existing network of contractors, owners, or design firms in the market of the posting.
• Disciplined pipeline habits: documented, forecastable, and honest.

Responsibilities

• Build and work a target list of contractors, owners, developers, and design firms; own those relationships end to end.
• Track permits, bid boards, and project announcements to find work before it is awarded; qualify and pursue it.
• Run the pursuit pipeline in the CRM from first contact through proposal, negotiation, and signed agreement; coordinate proposals with the engineering team.
• Represent the company at industry associations, pre-bid meetings, and client events; report pipeline and results monthly.
• What a week in this job looks like: 3-4 client visits, pre-bid meetings, proposal reviews, follow-up calls to move deals, and weekly forecasting.
