Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Business Development Manager to own the market, relationships, pipeline, and close deals for testing and inspection work. You will work with a seller-doer engineer pricing the technical side while you manage client relationships and revenue growth.

Your focus is on contractors, owners, developers, and design firms, tracking permits and bid boards, pursuing opportunities, and coordinating proposals with the engineering team. Local travel is expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years selling professional or technical services to the construction industry.
• Existing network of contractors, owners, or design firms in the market.
• Disciplined pipeline habits: documented, forecastable, and honest.
• Comfortable talking specifications and schedules with a superintendent and contract terms with an owner.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a target list of contractors, owners, developers, and design firms; own those relationships end to end; track permits, bid boards, and project announcements to find work before it is awarded.
• Qualify and pursue opportunities; run the pursuit pipeline in the CRM from first contact through proposal, negotiation, and signed agreement.
• Coordinate proposals with the engineering team: scope, pricing, qualifications, and follow-up; represent the company at industry associations, pre-bid meetings, and client events; report pipeline and results monthly.
• Weekly activities include client visits, pre-bid meetings, proposal reviews with pricing engineers, and follow-up calls to advance deals; travel to Sugar Land as needed.
