Job summary

Jobot is partnering with a well-established commercial general contractor in the Greater Philadelphia market to add an Assistant Controller to its accounting and finance team. The role involves overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, project financial reporting, job costing, month-end close, and internal controls.

The ideal candidate has construction accounting experience, with CMiC ERP familiarity preferred, and will work closely with senior leadership and the Controller to support company

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience within commercial construction, general contracting, or a related project-based environment strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of job-cost accounting and WIP reporting.
• Experience with month-end close and financial statement preparation.
• CMiC experience highly preferred.
• Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the company's accounting and financial operations.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain the accuracy of financial records.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activities.
• Coordinate year-end audit activities and work with external auditors.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Oversee general ledger activities and month-end close processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide guidance on complex accounting and reporting matters.
• Collaborate with department leaders to support company objectives.
