Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller for a leading family-owned construction company in Belmont Hills, PA. The role partners with senior leadership to oversee day-to-day accounting, project financials, job costing, and internal controls in a fast-paced project-based environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in construction accounting, with CMiC experience preferred, strong Excel skills, and a proven track record of accurate, timely financial reporting and month-end close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in commercial construction, general contracting, or project-based environments preferred.
• Strong understanding of job-cost accounting and WIP reporting.
• Experience with month-end close and financial statement prep; CMiC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing accounting and financial operations.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain accuracy of records.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Coordinate year-end audit activities with external auditors.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls.
• Oversee general ledger and month-end close processes.
• Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide guidance on complex accounting and reporting matters.
• Collaborate with leadership to support company objectives.
