Job summary

DAP Construction Management is seeking an organized Accounts Receivable & Billing Clerk in Phoenix, AZ to support project billing, payment tracking, and customer account reconciliation.

You will work closely with the Controller and project managers to prepare accurate invoices, meet deadlines, and maintain complete project billing records. Construction billing experience is preferred but not required for strong AR candidates.

Qualifications

• Previous accounts receivable, billing, or accounting support experience preferred.
• Construction billing experience is a plus.
• Experience with FOUNDATION or similar accounting software preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and PDF documents.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
• Professional communication skills and ability to manage recurring deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare project invoices and progress billing packages using approved schedules of values, project updates, and contract requirements.
• Maintain a billing calendar and coordinate with project managers to obtain approvals and supporting documentation.
• Submit approved invoices through customer portals or email and track acceptance, corrections, and payment status.
• Record and apply customer payments in FOUNDATION accounting software.
• Reconcile project billing records, including outstanding invoices, retainage, short payments, and unapplied receipts.
• Review AR aging, follow up on outstanding balances, and document collection activity.
• Maintain organized billing files and customer correspondence.
• Assist with final billing, retainage collection, project closeout, and month-end AR reporting.
• Research discrepancies and escape unresolved issues to the Controller.
