Job summary

Commercial General Contractor is seeking an experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper with a strong background in commercial construction. You will prepare and examine financial records, organize project files, and support multiple active jobs while ensuring accuracy and compliance with AIA forms.

The role requires QB Enterprise expertise, solid Excel skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks across subcontractors, owners, and pay applications.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting, finance, and related fields.
• Must have extensive experience with QuickBooks Enterprise and online.
• Prefer QuickBooks certification; construction accounting experience for a General Contractor is required.
• Familiar with P&L, balance sheet, and all financial reports.
• Familiar with AIA forms, pay applications, and insurance forms.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask; strong organizational skills.
• Deadline- and detail-oriented; solid Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Obtain primary financial data for accounting records.
• Enter invoices and pay apps in QuickBooks.
• Knowledge of AIA forms.
• Process pay applications, A/P, A/R, invoices, and POs.
• Lien waivers and familiarity with AIA forms.
• Knowledge of cost coding.
• Compute and record data; check accuracy of transactions.
• Perform data entry and administrative duties.
• Deal with subcontractors, owners, pay apps, waivers, etc.
• Answer phones.
• Balance several accounts, pay monthly bills, reconcile statements.
