Job summary

FBT Gibbons LLP seeks a thoughtful Conflicts Attorney to join its Office of Legal Affairs. You will identify, analyze, and resolve conflicts of interest related to new business intake, client engagements, and lateral hiring, providing guidance on ethics and preparing screens, waivers, and disclosures.

The ideal candidate has a JD, at least three years in a law firm, and strong writing and communication skills to responsibly address conflicts and ethics matters across the firm.

Qualifications

• JD degree and bar license in good standing preferred.
• At least three years of legal experience in a law firm.
• Strong analytical, research and writing skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze electronic information for conflicts of interest in new engagements and hires.
• Conduct electronic research to identify, clarify, and resolve conflict and ethics issues.
• Prepare and analyze engagement letters, waivers, ethical screens and disclosures.
• Communicate with firm attorneys and business professionals to resolve conflicts and ethics issues.
• Assist in training staff on conflict of interest processes and client intake systems.
• Close client and matter accounts according to firm policy.
