Job summary

FBT Gibbons LLP is seeking a Conflicts Attorney to partner with attorneys and business professionals to identify and resolve conflicts of interest in new engagements and hires. The role supports ethics reviews, screens, waivers, and related disclosures across the firm.

The ideal candidate has a JD, at least three years in a law firm, and strong analytical, research, and communication skills for diplomatically addressing sensitive conflicts and ethics matters.

Qualifications

• JD degree and active bar license preferred.
• At least three years of legal experience in a law firm.
• Experience with electronic research and conflicts-related software.
• Proficiency with MS Office and conflicts programs; Aderant a plus.
• Knowledge of Rules of Professional Conduct and ethics in a law firm.
• Strong writing, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze new engagements and hires to identify conflicts.
• Conduct electronic research to resolve conflict and ethics issues.
• Analyze conflicts and provide guidance to firm attorneys.
• Prepare and review engagement letters, outside counsel guidelines, and disclosures.
• Analyze work in the Office of Legal Affairs and guide teams on conflicts.
• Communicate with attorneys and business professionals to resolve issues.
• Assist in training staff on conflicts and client intake processes.
• Close client/accounts according to firm policy.
