Job summary

FBT Gibbons LLP is seeking a Conflicts Attorney to join the Office of Legal Affairs, focusing on identifying and resolving conflicts of interest in new business intake, client engagements, and lateral hiring. The role involves guiding on ethics matters, preparing and reviewing ethical screens, waivers, disclosures, engagement letters, and Outside Counsel Guidelines.

The ideal candidate has a JD, at least three years in a law firm, strong analytical judgment, and excellent communication skills,

Qualifications

JD degree and active bar license in good standing preferred.
At least three years of legal experience in a law firm.
Experience conducting electronic research and familiarity with conflicts software.

Responsibilities

Review and analyze electronic information to identify conflict of interest issues.
Conduct electronic research using Westlaw, Google, and other tools to resolve conflicts.
Prepare engagement letters, outside counsel guidelines, ethics disclosures, waivers, and ethical screens.
Provide guidance on conflicts and ethics matters to firm attorneys.
Communicate with attorneys and business professionals to resolve conflicts and other issues.
Assist in training on conflict of interest processes for legal and non‑legal staff.
Close client and matter accounts per firm policy.
