Job summary

FBT Gibbons LLP, a national law firm, seeks a Conflicts Attorney to join the Office of Legal Affairs. You will identify, analyze, and resolve conflicts of interest in new engagements and hires, drafting and reviewing ethical screens and engagement letters.

Ideal candidate has a JD, 3+ years' experience in a law firm, strong analytical and communication skills, and familiarity with conflicts software. Location: US; typical hours align with PST/MST/CST/EST time zones.

Qualifications

• JD degree and at least three years of legal experience in a law firm.
• Active bar license in good standing strongly preferred.
• Experience with electronic research and conflict of interest issues.
• Familiarity with conflicts and ethics matters in a law firm environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze electronic information for new engagements and hires to identify conflict issues.
• Conduct electronic research using Westlaw, Google, and other tools to resolve conflicts and ethics issues.
• Prepare, review and analyze engagement letters, outside counsel guidelines, ethics disclosures, waivers, and disengagement letters.
• Provide guidance on conflict of interest and ethics issues to firm attorneys.
• Communicate with attorneys and business professionals to facilitate resolution of conflicts.
• Assist in developing training on conflict of interest issues and client intake procedures.
• Close client and matter accounts according to firm policy.
