FBT Gibbons LLP is seeking a Conflicts Attorney to join the Office of Legal Affairs. You will identify, analyze, and resolve conflicts of interest related to new business intake, client engagements, and lateral hiring, while guiding ethics matters and preparing ethical screens and waivers.

The ideal candidate has a JD with at least three years’ law firm experience, strong analytical judgment, excellent written and verbal communication, and the ability to work diplomatically with attorneys and

Qualifications

JD degree and bar license; strong ethics and conflicts experience.
Experience researching electronic information and handling conflicts duties.

Responsibilities

Review and analyze electronic information to identify conflicts of interest related to new engagements and hires.
Conduct electronic research using Westlaw, Google, and other tools to resolve conflict and ethics issues.
Analyze and resolve conflict of interest issues and communicate findings to firm attorneys.
Prepare, review, and analyze engagement letters, outside counsel guidelines, disclosures, waivers, ethical screens, and disengagement letters.
Guide the Office of Legal Affairs on conflicts and ethics issues.
Assist in training staff on conflict of interest processes and related systems.
Close client and matter accounts per firm policy.
