Job summary

Empirical Systems Aerospace, Inc (ESAero) in San Luis Obispo, CA, seeks a detail-oriented Configuration Management Specialist to manage documentation, tracking, and control of engineering, software, and hardware configurations on-site.

You will collaborate with Engineering, IT, QA, Manufacturing and Operations to ensure compliant configuration management practices, evaluate changes, and maintain data accuracy throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in configuration management or a similar role.
• Understanding of configuration management principles and product development processes.
• Experience with PLM or PDM tools for configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute configuration management plans for engineering programs.
• Evaluate and route ECRs, ensuring proper documentation and communication.
• Manage configuration control meetings (CCB, TRB) and drive decisions to closure.
• Assess risk and impact of design changes and communicate findings to decision-makers.
• Ensure data accuracy and traceability in configuration documentation.
