Job description

An aerospace and commercial space exploration company is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist to support engineering change management and configuration control for aerospace products and systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering changes from initiation through implementation, verification, and closure.
• Coordinate Engineering Change Requests, proposals, notices, deviations, and waivers.
• Support Configuration Control Boards and cross-functional technical reviews.
• Assess impacts to requirements, designs, hardware, software, manufacturing, testing, quality, safety, suppliers, cost, and schedule.
• Maintain configuration records, baselines, effectivity, approvals, and traceability.
• Coordinate updates to drawings, specifications, procedures, bills of material, and technical documentation.
• Track verification, retesting, inspections, and implementation activities.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in configuration management, engineering change management, product lifecycle management, or a related technical field.
• Experience managing engineering changes from initiation through closure.
• Knowledge of configuration identification, change control, baseline management, effectivity, and configuration verification.
• Experience with engineering drawings, requirements, specifications, bills of material, and controlled technical data.
• Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Configuration management certification preferred.

Preferred Experience

• Commercial spaceflight, spacecraft, launch vehicles, human spaceflight, or other mission- or safety-critical systems.
• PLM/PDM tools such as Teamcenter, Windchill, or ENOVIA.
• Jira, Confluence, Git/GitLab, or requirements-management tools.
• EIA-649, AS9100, NASA, or comparable standards.

Occasional evenings and weekends may be required to support critical project milestones. This position may require access to ITAR- or EAR-controlled technical data and may be subject to export-control screening.
