Job summary

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts in Chicago seeks a catering coordinator to manage and coordinate all catering functions for social and corporate events. You will ensure flawless execution from menu planning to on-site service and work closely with sales and culinary teams.

Qualifications

• Some College plus 1-2 years sales or marketing related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of hotel sales and/or catering preferred.
• Must speak fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate food and beverage prices, function space, and hotel services within approved departmental booking guidelines.
• Work with catering staff to service and solicit new business and upsell client events.
• Assist in the preparation of the departmental budget and implement catering strategy.
• May assist in developing and implementing sales actions plan.
• Coordinate with other hotel departments to fulfill client needs and ensure guest satisfaction.
