Job summary

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Catering Coordinator to manage and coordinate all catering functions including social gatherings, galas, and corporate events booked through the catering department.

You will negotiate prices, work with staff to service and solicit new business, and assist in budgeting and planning to ensure guest satisfaction from setup to post-event follow-up.

Qualifications

• Some College plus 1-2 years sales or marketing related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of hotel sales and/or catering preferred.
• Must speak fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate food and beverage prices, function space, and hotel services within approved guidelines.
• Confirm group requirements via catering contracts, addendums, BEOs and pricing to clients and hotel departments.
• Work with catering staff to service and solicit new business and upsell events.
• Assist in preparing the departmental budget and implement catering strategy.
• Collaborate with hotel departments to deliver agreed services and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Promote teamwork and coordinate with other departments for event success.
• Interact with guests, meeting planners, travel agencies and corporate accounts to secure repeat business.
• Prepare and distribute amenity requests and manage post-event reports.
