Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a catering events coordinator to manage social gatherings, galas, and corporate functions booked through the catering department. You will negotiate, plan, and execute event logistics to exceed client expectations.

You will work with hotel departments to ensure seamless service, support budget goals, and drive repeat business by delivering high-quality guest experiences across meetings and events.

Qualifications

• Some College plus 1-2 years sales or marketing related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of hotel sales and/or catering preferred.
• Must speak fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate food and beverage prices, function space, and hotel services within approved departmental booking guidelines.
• Work with catering staff to service and solicit new business and up-sell client events.
• Assist in the preparation of the departmental budget and implementation of the hotel’s catering and conference strategy.
• Follow up with clients during and after events to ensure satisfaction and secure future bookings.
• Coordinate Banquet Event Orders (BEO) and contracts as designated by sales.
• Interact with guests, meeting planners, wholesalers, corporate accounts, travel agencies, and other contacts to generate repeat business.
