Job summary

United Launch Alliance (ULA) seeks a Composite Strength Analyst to perform analyses of composite and metallic structures, develop FEMs, and support design reviews. The role requires hands-on FEA work, validation through hand calculations, and cross-functional teamwork.

The candidate will review layouts and drawings, provide design recommendations, and document results across strength reports while coordinating with lead engineers and junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 4 years of related work experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• General understanding of materials and material properties.
• Experience with Structural Analysis.
• Experience analyzing composite structures with FEA and hand calcs.
• Understanding of GD&T standards and principles.

Responsibilities

• Performing analysis of composite material structures, as well as metallic elements, to support operations and development programs.
• Create finite element analysis models (FEMs) and perform hand calculations.
• Run and modify existing FEMs to support design changes or nonconformances.
• Review and approve 3-D layouts, models, and drawings.
• Provide engineering design recommendations considering thermal, mechanical and pressure loading.
• Document analysis results in strength reports.
• Support internal peer reviews and formal design reviews as needed.
