Job summary

United Launch Alliance (ULA) is seeking a Strength Analyst to perform analyses of propulsion and structural components, including non-linear methods. You will create models, run hand calculations and review 3-D layouts and drawings to ensure robust designs.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering and at least 2 years of related experience, with proficiency in MS Office and fatigue/fracture methodologies. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office tools.
  • Ability to make design recommendations based on analysis results.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in a team environment.
  • Understanding of fatigue and fracture analysis tools and methodology.
  • Understanding of GD&T standards and principles.
  • Experience with structural analysis of propulsion hardware and components.

Responsibilities

  • Perform strength, fatigue and fracture analysis of propulsion and structural components.
  • Create analysis models and perform hand calculations.
  • Review 3-D layouts, models, designs and drawings for propulsion and mechanical systems.
  • Make engineering design recommendations based on analysis results.
  • Document results in strength reports and support reviews as needed.
  • Support fast-paced design/analysis cycles and address non-conformances.
