The Hartford seeks experienced professionals to join its Environmental Claims, in the Complex Claims Unit, handling legacy environmental and pollution claims with high exposures. You’ll influence litigation strategies, manage complex coverage issues, and drive strategic resolutions for insureds.

The roles encompass both Consultant and Specialist levels, with experience in environmental or latent injury claims and strong negotiation and analytical skills. Hybrid or remote work is available.

Qualifications

• 5 years general liability claim handling experience.
• Consultant: Experience with commercial general liability claims.
• Specialist: Experience with environmental or latent injury claims.
• Experience with affirmative/defensive risk transfer; including additional insured tenders.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical and critical thinking ability.
• Ability to present in a roundtable setting with analytical evaluation.
• Active Property & Casualty State Insurance Adjuster license or ability to obtain within 3 months.

Responsabilités

• Provide proactive communications to customers and business partners in claim management.
• Respond to inquiries and provide superior customer service.
• Review and analyze multiple complex policies and coverage parts, including pollution coverages.
• Write clear, concise, and accurate coverage positions.
• Conduct investigations regarding claims and lawsuits.
• Manage litigation and counsel, including budgeting and strategy.
• Develop and articulate complex coverage, liability, and damage assessments.
• Provide detailed recommendations to leadership.
• Pursue and finalize coverage and liability risk transfer against other liable parties.
• Conduct complex negotiations and attend mediations or trials as needed.
• Manage expenses, reserves, and financial transactions; maintain claims metrics.
