Qualifications

• 5+ years general liability claim handling experience with environmental or latent injury claims or pollution coverages.
• Experience in handling affirmative/defensive risk transfer, including additional insured tenders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to present in a roundtable setting with a well-reasoned evaluation.
• Superior customer service skills and active listening.
• Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Proven negotiations/settlement experience on high-value general liability claims.
• Demonstrated negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
• Proficiency handling litigated claims; active P&C Adjuster license or ability to obtain within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage the most complex, high-value claims with strategic resolution.
• Participate in audits, projects and training to share expertise.
• Provide proactive communications to customers and business partners.
• Respond to inquiries with superior customer service.
• Review complex policies and coverage parts for accurate positions.
• Conduct investigations of claims and lawsuits.
• Manage litigation budgeting and strategy for resolution.
• Develop and articulate complex coverage and liability assessments.
• Offer recommendations to leadership and stakeholders.
• Negotiate coverage and liability with other parties and carriers.
• Attend mediations and trials as needed.
