Job summary

CNA Insurance seeks a Complex Claims Consultant to handle Architect and Engineer liability claims with multi-million dollar exposures. The role requires strong negotiation and regulatory knowledge, with a hybrid schedule (2 days per week in CNA office locations) and experience in mediations and settlements.

Candidate should have a Bachelor's degree with at least six years of claims experience and an active adjuster license (or ability to obtain within 90 days). CPCU preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
• Typically a minimum six years of relevant experience, preferably in claim handling.
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire.
• Prior negotiation experience.
• Professional designations preferred (e.g. CPCU).

Responsibilities

• Manages an inventory of highly complex claims with large exposures following policy coverage and disbursement guidelines.
• Ensures exceptional customer service by managing all aspects of the claim and providing timely updates.
• Verifies coverage and reserves by reviewing policy language and collaborating with coverage counsel.
• Leads investigations to determine compensability and liability.
• Resolves claims by coordinating with partners to develop and execute strategies.
• Establishes and manages claim budgets and resources.
• Addresses subrogation, salvage opportunities, or potential fraud.
• Maintains compliance with state/local regulatory requirements and trains junior staff.
