Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Typically six years of relevant claim handling experience.
• Must have or be able to obtain and maintain an Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire, where applicable.
• Professional designations preferred (e.g. CPCU).

Responsibilities

• Manages an inventory of highly complex commercial claims with large exposures, following protocol to verify coverage and authorize disbursements.
• Ensures exceptional customer service by managing all aspects of the claim and providing timely updates.
• Verifies coverage and establishes reserves by reviewing policy language and working with coverage counsel on complex matters.
• Leads focused investigation to determine compensability, liability and covered damages with documents, statements, and experts as needed.
• Resolves claims by collaborating with partners to develop and execute a claim resolution strategy, including settlements and litigation management.
• Establishes and manages claim budgets, resources, and expense payments for timely resolutions.
• Mentors and trains less experienced claim professionals.
