Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Typically a minimum six years of relevant experience, preferably in claim handling.
• Must have or be able to obtain Insurance Adjuster License within 90 days of hire.
• Prior negotiation experience.
• Professional designations preferred (e.g. CPCU).

Responsibilities

• Manages an inventory of highly complex commercial claims with large exposures.
• Ensures exceptional customer service by managing all aspects of the claim.
• Verifies coverage and establishes reserves by reviewing policy language.
• Leads investigation to determine compensability and liability.
• Resolves claims by negotiating settlements and managing litigation.
• Establishes and manages claim budgets with timely resolution.
• Addresses subrogation/salvage opportunities and potential fraud.
• Maintains quality standards and timely documentation of files.
• Keeps senior leadership informed of risks and losses.
• Stays compliant with state/local regulatory requirements and mentors others.
