Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Compensation Analyst to guide base salary administration, short-term incentives, and equity award processes. The role partners with HR to evaluate jobs, price positions, and support career architecture initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings deep compensation theory knowledge, strong data integrity, and the ability to handle confidential information. Hybrid work in Silver Spring, MD is available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive compensation experience with an HR function.
• Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, HR, finance, psychology, or related discipline.
• Proficiency in compensation theory and local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
• Experience in building compensation models and conducting detailed pay analyses.
• Proficiency in compensation survey data utilization; Radford & Mercer surveys preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as internal consultant to provide compensation and policy support to HR, managers, and employees.
• Perform detailed job evaluations, determine classification, exemption status, and market salaries.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of compensation data for analyses and reporting.
• Analyze jobs by interviewing stakeholders and observing duties.
• Collaborate to draft and update job descriptions and career pathways.
• Provide compensation support for career ladders and job architecture initiatives.
• Prepare reports summarizing job analysis, compensation, and career data.
• Conduct market pricing and FLSA testing across titles and functions.
• Prepare ad-hoc analyses and compensation surveys submissions.
