Job summary

Versique Executive, Professional & Interim Recruiting in Minnesota is seeking a Compensation Analyst to design, implement, and administer compensation programs, partnering with Total Rewards to analyze data and scale frameworks. The role emphasizes data-driven decision making and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will conduct job evaluations, market pricing, and compensation surveys, maintain HRIS data integrity, and support merit, incentives, and pay decisions, ensuring compliance

Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years of compensation, compensation analysis, or HR analytics experience.
  • Strong knowledge of market pricing, job evaluation, pay equity, salary structures, and FLSA classifications.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms such as Workday, ADP, UKG, Paycom, or Paylocity.
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets analytics and modeling.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct job evaluations and market pricing analyses to ensure roles are benchmarked and competitively positioned.
  • Participate in and manage compensation survey submissions while analyzing market data to support pay decisions.
  • Support annual compensation programs including merit increases, incentive planning, and compensation review cycles.
  • Maintain and audit compensation data within the HRIS, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
  • Partner with HRBPs and hiring managers to evaluate offers, promotions, transfers, and equity adjustments.
  • Prepare compensation analyses, dashboards, reports, and recommendations for HR and business leaders.
  • Provide guidance on compensation-related questions and pay decisions.
  • Support compliance efforts related to pay transparency, wage regulations, and FLSA classifications.
  • Assist with implementing, configuring, testing, and optimizing compensation planning tools.
  • Assist in developing compensation philosophies, governance processes, policies, and career leveling frameworks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Position Overview:

The Compensation Analyst will support the design, implementation, and administration of compensation programs. This role partners closely with Total Rewards leadership to analyze compensation data, maintain systems, support annual compensation processes, and help build compensation frameworks and policies that will scale with the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with a builder's mindset and thrives in environments where they can create structure and drive continuous improvement.

Worksite Location:

Hybrid opportunity in the Twin Cities northwest metro.

Base Salary:

$75,000 - $100,000 (dependent on experience).

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare compensation analyses, dashboards, reports, and recommendations for HR and business leaders.
  • Provide guidance and support on compensation-related questions and pay decisions.
  • Support compliance efforts related to pay transparency, wage regulations, FLSA classifications, and compensation audits.
  • Assist with the implementation, configuration, testing, and optimization of compensation planning tools and systems.
  • Assist in developing compensation philosophies, governance processes, policies, and career leveling frameworks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 2-5+ years of experience in compensation, compensation analysis, or a related HR analytics role.
  • Strong understanding of compensation principles including market pricing, job evaluation, pay equity, salary structures, incentive programs, and FLSA classifications.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms such as Workday, ADP, UKG, Paycom, Paylocity, or similar systems.
  • Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets skills, including data analysis and modeling capabilities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain compensation concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to thrive in an evolving environment and create structure where processes are still being developed.
Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience participating in compensation surveys such as Radford, Mercer, WTW, or Culpepper.
  • Experience helping build compensation structures, pay bands, or job architectures from the ground up.
  • Experience within startup, high-growth, or rapidly evolving organizations.
  • Familiarity with compensation planning software such as Pave, OpenComp, CompTrak, PayScale, beqom, or similar platforms.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification or progress toward certification.
  • Experience supporting pay transparency and compensation compliance initiatives.
