Highland Animal Hospital in Needham Heights, MA is seeking a skilled full-time Veterinary Receptionist to be the primary contact for clients and their pets. The role blends administrative precision with warmth across diverse, sometimes emotionally charged interactions, serving as the friendly face of the clinic.

You will support a high-volume front desk, manage records and scheduling, and collaborate with veterinarians and staff to maintain smooth patient flow and exceptional client service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a veterinary receptionist.
• Experience with veterinary practice management software is preferred.
• Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and vaccination protocols.
• Proficiency in appointment scheduling, multi-line phone management, medical records, and payment processing.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients and patients, verify/update medical records, and confirm appointment details using the practice management software.
• Answer and manage a multi-line telephone system and respond to inquiries about scheduling, refills, vaccination records, and general hospital information.
• Process client checkout, including payments, posting charges, and scheduling follow-ups.
• Communicate medical information and care instructions accurately and compassionately, including in emotionally sensitive situations such as euthanasia scheduling.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure timely data entry in the PIMS system.
