Highland Animal Hospital in Needham, MA is seeking a skilled and compassionate full-time Veterinary Receptionist to be the primary contact for clients and their pets. Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a veterinary receptionist.
• Experience with high-volume front desk operations.
• Ability to deliver compassionate customer service in a clinical setting.
• Calm and composed under pressure.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in clients and patients, verify and update medical records, and confirm appointment details using practice management software
• Answer and manage a multi-line telephone system, handling inquiries regarding scheduling, prescription refills, vaccination records, and general hospital information
• Process payments, post charges, explain invoices, and schedule follow-ups
• Communicate medical information and care instructions, including end-of-life discussions
• Maintain EMR and data entry in the veterinary practice information management system (PIMS)
• Coordinate with veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and support staff to relay client communications, flag urgent cases, and maintain efficient patient flow
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room for a positive client experience
