Job summary

EmergeOrtho, P.A. is seeking a Surgery Scheduler for our Arden & McDowell offices in North Carolina.

The role involves coordinating pre-operative and post-operative appointments, collecting patient information, verifying insurance, and ensuring accurate documentation to support timely scheduling of surgeries. Ideal candidates will have at least two years in patient services within healthcare, proficiency with MS Office, and a detail-oriented approach to coordination with physicians and care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; clinical certification preferred.
• Minimum two years of patient service experience in healthcare.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Knowledge of lab/diagnostic tests and related paperwork.
• Experience with managed care basics and Medicare population.
• Proficient with email, internet apps and Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with practice management and word processing software.
• Demonstrates integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
• Excellent communication skills in person, in writing and by phone.
• Strong documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedules surgeries and posts procedures for patients.
• Obtains accurate patient information for procedure documentation.
• Collaborates with the patient’s physician and specialists for medication recommendations per ASRA guidelines.
• Delivers detailed pre/post-surgery instructions per clinical protocol.
• Maintains open, professional communication with the physician care team.
• Ensures medical records reflect patient communications and plan of care.
• Obtains prior authorization for services.
