Job summary

Trinity Health's Pittsburgh Mercy location is seeking a full-time Shelter Operations Supervisor who will oversee daily shelter operations, lead staff, manage client services, and uphold the organization's mission. The role emphasizes low-barrier, non-judgmental service, safety, compliance, and strong documentation.

Candidates should have experience in homeless services, excellent communication, and the ability to handle crises.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 2 years' experience (1 year in supervision preferred) or high school with 4 years' experience (1 in supervision preferred).
• Act 33/34/73 clearances.
• Valid Driver License and ability to drive an organization vehicle.
• Pre-Employment Drug Screen required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage shelter staff, including shift leaders, case managers, and support staff.
• Oversee daily shelter operations, including client intake, bed assignments, and service coordination.
• Develop and implement client support programs, including access to resources, case management, and crisis intervention.
• Ensure that shelter operations comply with regulations, safety protocols, and submit reports.
• Build relationships with community partners and represent the shelter at meetings and events.
