Job summary

PACS is seeking a dedicated caregiver at our San Diego post-acute facility to support daily resident care and administrative tasks. You will assist residents, maintain clean rooms, manage supplies, and adhere to safety and confidentiality policies.

Strong written and verbal communication and basic computer skills are required. Responsibilities include responding to call bells, coordinating with nurses, and ensuring comfort and safety of residents throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• 8th grade education minimum.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
• Mathematical skills to apply fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.

Responsibilities

• Familiarize with the facility's administrative structure.
• Report accidents/incidents to Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
• Report changes in resident condition promptly.
• Answer phones during shifts.
• Assist with residents and staff errands and with secretarial tasks as requested.
• Maintain clean, orderly resident rooms and common areas.
• Follow policies on exposure to blood/body fluids.
• Ensure residents needing help are checked frequently.
• Answer call bells promptly and assist CNAs/Nurses.
• Make rounds assisting residents and managing call bells.
• Turn medications found in residents' rooms over to Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
• Greet residents and escort them to rooms; introduce them to roommates and staff.
• Wash hands before and after any resident service.
• Keep supplies stocked, replace liners, and keep equipment safe.
• Do not feed residents.
• Assist residents with identifying food arrangements for meals.
