Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to implement the plan of care under a physical therapist, educate patients and families, and document care in the EMR. The role involves executing therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy as needed.

The PTA will coordinate with the PT and referring providers, ensuring communication and progress notes while maintaining compliance with clinical policies and continuing education requirements.

Qualifications

• Associates degree required for PTA
• PTA license required/board eligible
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire
• Board eligibility/board exam completion as scheduled

Responsibilities

• Educates patients and families using effective teaching methods
• Follows therapist's plan of care and documents communications
• Completes daily documentation and therapy EMR entries
• Provides treatment interventions including therapeutic exercise and gait/balance training
• Administers electrical stimulation and aquatic therapy as appropriate
• Coordinates with PT on patient treatment and progress with referring providers
