Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Boardman, OH seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Progressive Care Unit. The role supports Registered Nurses with basic patient care, monitors vital signs, and assists with feeding and grooming to ensure patient comfort and safety.

Ideal candidates hold a nursing aide credential (STNA or CNA) with BLS, and have experience in acute care or similar settings. Training with EPIC EHR is a plus, and the team emphasizes compassion and teamwork.

Qualifications

• BLS Basic Life Support preferred; must obtain before direct patient care.
• Must have completed nursing aide training OR STNA OR CNA OR nursing program with one clinical nursing course and rotation.
• Recent experience in acute care, physician offices, home health/hospice, or long-term care facility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital sign measurement, hygiene, and assisting with mobility.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and concerns.
• Delivers high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Documents patient care accurately and promptly.
• Participates in hand-off/report of pertinent information at arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency is validated.
