Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for acute care rehabilitation at The Jewish Hospital. You will support the nursing team, monitor patients and assist with basic needs to ensure comfort and safety.

Requires BLS, nursing aide training or equivalent, and strong communication. EPIC EHR training is preferred. Mercy Health offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• BLS Basic Life Support is required upon hire or must be obtained prior to direct patient care.
• Successful completion of a nursing aide training program OR STNA/CNA/Nurses Aide state testing or completion of a nursing program with clinical nursing course.
• Recent acute care, home health, or long‑term care experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, personal care and hygiene, and assists with mobility.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes and concerns.
• Provides high‑level customer service to patients, families, visitors and employees.
• Documents patient care accurately and timely in the EHR when applicable.
• Participates in hand‑off/report of pertinent information upon arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency has been validated.
• Mobilizes patients using safe transfer techniques and promotes independence.
• Encourages patients to complete tasks independently while individualizing care to patient interests.
