Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Transporter to support the transportation of patients and materials across the hospital. You will assist nursing staff, operate various transport devices, and ensure safe patient handoffs during transit.

The role requires good English communication, strong customer service, and the ability to work in a dynamic hospital environment with varying shifts. A high school diploma is required and a signing bonus may be available during recruitment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Good interpersonal skills and a customer service orientation to collaborate with hospital departments.

Responsibilities

• Escort ambulatory patients and transport by wheelchair, stretcher or bed.
• Assist nursing staff and lift tech in moving and positioning patients.
• Deliver stretchers, beds, and wheelchairs; clean and sanitize equipment.
• Transport patient specimens and related materials following infection control guidelines.
• Interact with dispatch system and maintain transport logs.
• May participate in Emergency Department triage transport assignments.
