Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Patient Transporter to support the mobility needs of patients across the hospital. The role involves transporting patients by wheelchair or bed, assisting nursing staff with transfers, delivering equipment and supplies, and maintaining transport logs and equipment hygiene.

A sign-on bonus may be available and final offers depend on experience and internal equity. Schedule includes a mixed day/evening shift with a Sunday through Saturday pattern and references

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Good interpersonal skills and a customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Escort ambulatory patients and transport by wheelchair, stretcher or bed.
• Assist nursing staff with patient handling and transfers.
• Deliver beds, stretchers and wheelchairs and sanitize transport equipment.
• Transport patient specimens and materials following infection control guidelines.
