Job summary

Health Care for the Homeless in Manchester, NH is seeking a Patient Service Representative / Scheduling Coordinator to welcome patients, register them, and support their visit from start to finish. You will manage provider schedules, verify demographics and insurance, collect co-pays, coordinate interpreters and transportation, and help keep confidential medical records secure.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
2-3 years of experience in a healthcare or medical office setting.
Strong data entry and computer skills and customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Serve as the first point of contact and warmly welcome, register, and support patients throughout their visit.
Manage provider schedules and coordinate appointments to ensure smooth clinic flow.
Verify and update patient demographics, insurance, and eligibility (including Sliding Fee Discount Scale).
Collect co-pays and fees in compliance with policies and regulations.
Coordinate interpreter services, transportation, and other visit-related supports.
Answer and triage incoming calls with professionalism and compassion.
Address patient concerns and escalation issues when appropriate.
Maintain accurate medical records and protect confidential health information.
Support clinic operations, including supplies and cross-site assistance as needed.
