Job summary

Livingston HealthCare seeks a Patient Financial Counselor to be the primary contact for patients on financial matters, including insurance verification, payment plans, and financial assistance programs. You will help patients understand their financial responsibilities while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and experience in customer service and credit/collections.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
Two years of customer service, business office experience, and credit and collection experience.
Two years computer experience, including Microsoft Word, Excel, or similar programs.
Demonstrated ability to be accurate and attentive to detail.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive insurance review and discovery for all patients.
Generate and review census reports daily.
Process unverified reports and coordinate with Patient Access Manager; track and report compliance issues.
Assist patients with Medicaid enrollment and insurance enrollments.
Process completed financial assistance applications.
Document notes in Cerner and verify patient income.
Maintain spreadsheet tracker for all applications.
Complete adjustments upon supervisor approval and send letters of approval/denial.
Monitor expiration dates and contact patients 30–45 days prior for updates.
Respond to patient questions and process payments.
