Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Nursing Float Pool at St. Francis Downtown. The role supports nurses with basic patient care, room sanitation, and monitoring vital signs to ensure comfort and safety for patients.

Ideal candidates have acute or long-term care experience, current BLS, and relevant nursing aide credentials. EPIC EHR familiarity is a plus, with emphasis on teamwork, communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long-term care facility preferred.
• BLS certification preferred; must obtain before direct patient care.
• EPIC EHR training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, and personal hygiene.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes.
• Delivers high-level customer service to patients and families.
• Documents patient care accurately and promptly.
• Participates in hand-offs and reports of patient needs.
• Performs delegated tasks after competency is validated.
• Mobilizes patients using safe techniques.
• Encourages patient independence and personal care.
