Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for Med Surg at St. Francis Downtown. The role provides basic patient care under RN guidance, including vital signs, hygiene, feeding, and mobility support in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Ideal candidates have completed a nursing aide training program, or equivalent, and hold or will obtain BLS. EPIC EHR experience is a plus and benefits are offered to support staff growth.

Qualifications

• Requires nursing aide training completion or equivalent credential.
• BLS Basic Life Support preferred on hire (must obtain before direct patient care).
• Experience or evidence of relevant clinical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care under RN guidance including vital signs, feeding, and grooming.
• Act as liaison between patient and nurse; report changes or concerns.
• Deliver high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff.
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the EHR as applicable.
• Participate in hand-offs and reports during shift changes.
• Assist with mobility and transfers using safe techniques.
• Foster independence and personalize care to patient interests.
