Job summary

Bon Secours in Greenville, SC is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at St. Francis Eastside. The PCT provides basic health care and support under the guidance of a nurse, including sanitizing rooms, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with activities of daily living.

Candidates should have recent acute care experience or similar, be able to document care and communicate with the care team, and obtain BLS. Epic EHR training is preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS basic life support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
• Must have completed one of the following nursing aide options: nursing aide training program OR STNA state tested nurse aide OR CNA certified nurse aide OR Nurses Aide state testing OR completed a nursing program with clinical nursing course and rotation OR 1 year of relevant clinical experience

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including care, comfort, vital signs, personal care and hygiene, mobility assistance
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes/concerns
• Delivers high level customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff
• Documents patient care accurately and promptly
• Delivers hand-off information on arrival and departure
• Performs delegated tasks after competency validation
• Mobilizes patients using safe transfer techniques
• Encourages patient independence in daily tasks
• Individualizes care based on patient interests and needs
